Thanks to the generosity of MAEF donors, Mahtomedi High School students have access to a Laguna Raku Kiln, which allows them to explore a Japanese pottery style from the 16th century! This was a classroom grant submitted by teacher Jan Nelson. The kiln allows students to observe as their creations are superheated outdoors and then rapidly cooled, revealing beautiful metallic surfaces that seemingly appear instantaneously.
