The Current Issues and Politics class at Mahtomedi High School conducted a mock election for all Mahtomedi High School (MHS) students on election day. Students in the Current Issues and Politics class practiced different roles during the mock election, including checking in the registered voters (MHS student list), distributing ballots, monitoring the election, checking ballots, and distributing “I Voted” election stickers.
The Current Issues and Politics class at MHS connects students to past, present, and future issues that shape the world on a local, regional, and global scale. The course is offered during the fall semester and uses a variety of activities to engage students with matters that have geographical, political, economic, social, and technological significance in the world.
