NASA HUNCH students

Mahtomedi High School (MHS) is now one of six schools in Minnesota to have the NASA HUNCH program. Recently, students had their first opportunity to learn about the program during a Flex session (a period during our high school day when students can choose a support, social, or interests exploration area). The program is supervised by NASA-approved advisor and science teacher at MHS, Bryan Farmer.

HUNCH is project-based learning program where high school students learn 21st-century skills and have the opportunity to launch their careers through participation in the design and fabrication of real-world valued products for NASA. In addition, students will make important professional connections in engineering and aeronautics careers.

From now until December, students will be researching and designing projects to submit to NASA. Throughout this time, they will have regular meetings with NASA engineers to discuss their projects. Students will then showcase their projects to NASA at a regional showcase and if their project is picked they will go to Texas to work with NASA engineers to implement the project.
