This year, Mahtomedi High School (MHS) received the Gold Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Roll award. Mahtomedi is among 6% of all eligible school districts in the U.S. and Canada to earn a Gold award.
- The Gold distinction recognizes that 65% of our Class of 2023 students took an AP exam, 35% of the Class of 2023 scored three or higher on an AP exam, and 10% of Class of 2023 students took 5 AP exams during high school with at least one taken during 9th or 10th grade.
- In 2022-23, 376 MHS students took 627 AP exams, and 78% scored 3 or higher, with 119 students earning AP Scholar status.
AP courses are designed to provide students with challenging academic content and the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.
MHS offers a wide range of rigorous courses including 19 AP courses for the 2024-25 school year: 2D Design Portfolio I, 2D Design Portfolio II, 3D Design Portfolio, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science, Drawing Portfolio I, Drawing Portfolio II, Human Geography, Language and Composition, Literature and Composition, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Music Theory, Pre-Calculus, Psychology, Statistics, and U.S. History.
