Congratulations to Annie Dahl, who was recently recognized by the Mahtomedi School Board for her outstanding leadership at Mahtomedi Public Schools. Ms. Dahl has worked for Mahtomedi Public Schools for five years. This year, she is teaching Spanish I and business at Mahtomedi High School (MHS). She also serves as an advisor for the Yearbook and DECA.
The Mahtomedi School Board recognized Ms. Dahl at their meeting on September 21. MHS Associate Principal Carrie Gillund gave the presentation. Ms. Gillund shared that Ms. Dahl has impacted the Mahtomedi High School community in many ways, including her ability to make students feel cared for and welcome, empowered to own and take pride in their work, and explore their passions and career opportunities. Ms. Gillund also noted that Ms. Dahl has made many career and technical education partnerships in our community and is very future-focused as Ms. Dahl will be launching the DECA program this year at MHS and is exploring starting a school store with students.
In addition to Ms. Gillund’s presentation, MHS Class of 2024 students, Olivia See, Maisie DeGrote, and Tori Jespersen also shared comments with their appreciation for Ms. Dahl and the impact she has had on their academic success and personal well-being: “Ms. Dahl is both an incredible hard-working person and one of the genuinely kindest people we have ever met. We can’t think of anyone who deserves this award more than her. She will forever be one of the biggest inspirations and role models, and we can only hope to be as fantastic as her when we grow up.” Watch the presentation video here.
